A message from the league president, 1960

Speaking as your president and in behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to bring to you a brief outline of our past accomplishments and future objectives.

Our organization fielded its first football teams in 1957, consisting of 210 boys on five teams. In the spring of 1958 baseball was included in our sports program. From a modest start our baseball program has grown to its status of approximately 680 boys comprising 45 teams. The football program has moved along in like manner. At this seasons end 420 uniforms were available for use by boys in this community.

All of these accomplishments have been made with much hard work by the members of our various committees, and by the active persons included in the general membership. The funds necessary to support our sports program come, in part, from baseball sponsors, and mainly from the efforts of the membership in spring and fall fund raising drivers.

What the future will hold for our youth program depends on the efforts put forth by our members, giving their time and talents to support and direct the varied activities of the organization.

In closing I wish to thank all of the people who have helped to make my year as president a pleasant as well as successful one. May we continue to progress and provide wholesome sports activities for the youth of our community.

Sincerly,

Robert D. Walters
